One of our key suppliers has recently been awarded the secured By Design accreditation for a range of its industrial doors. Secured By Design (SBD) is an official group of projects run by the UK Police that investigates the design and security for domestic and commercial sites, and aims to ‘design out crime’ through physical security and processes.
Secured By Design Accreditation
The Police initiative works with the security and crime prevention industries to create high level security standards and responds to trends in crime. Hörmann’s industrial sectional doors, the SPU F42 and the SPU 67 Thermo have been awarded the accreditation following rigorous testing against a set of key security standards and safety requirements. The doors have been rated by SBD as being highly secure options for commercial buildings, providing not only peace of mind but can also lower insurance rates too!
David O’Mara, marketing manager at Hörmann UK said in a press release:
“We are delighted to have both the SPU F42 and the SPU 67 Thermo industrial sectional doors recognised as Secured by Design. In order to achieve this accreditation a manual door must have an additional shoot or rotary bolt, and if automated an extra anti-lift kit. This status gives our customers extra peace of mind when it comes to choosing doors that will provide them with high levels of security and ensure that any substantial financial losses, due to the security of their doors, are avoided.â€
