When you need to separate certain areas of you commercial or industrial unit, PVC strip doors are a great solution. They provide an effective and insulative curtain for an area of your factory or warehouse but still allow the easy flow of light traffic such as pedestrians and forklifts. The fact that they are made from PVC also confers certain benefits for industrial applications.
The History of PVC
The original polyvinyl chloride (PVC) was accidentally synthesised by Eugen Baumann in 1872. The hard, brittle, white plastic was assumed to be useless until an American company developed a method of plasticising it – by the addition of additives two forms of useful PVC (rigid and flexible) could be obtained. Our strip doors are made from flexible PVC.
The Qualities of PVC
The modern PVC is a material that features the following qualities that make it especially suitable for use in industry:
It’s not just this amazing material that makes our strip doors such a good investment. The doors themselves have some amazing qualities: they allow you to keep temperature controlled areas cold, contain dust and fumes, shield light from arc-welding and prevent pigeons and other pests from gaining easy access to sensitive areas of your unit.
