We were recently contacted by Suffolk County Council to provide new doors for a fire station in Clare, near Sudbury. We removed and disposed of a pair of 40-year-old side hinged doors which were damaged and in disrepair.
We installed a black PPC finished steel frame suitable for the load of the new door set, complete with matching flashings ready for a set of Phoenix Swift folding doors. The doorset is manually operated in four leaves, with two leaves folding to each side clear of the opening.
The doors were finished in Poppy red Plastisol on the exterior and white on the interior. The doors have 600mm x 1200mm double-glazed, aluminium-framed vision panels in each leaf to provide light inside the workspace and increase safety.
As the fire station is located within a conservation area the design had to be agreed with a conservation officer from Suffolk County Council. We provided all services, including removal and disposal of the previous doors, and design and installation of the new safety doors.
