At Cooks Industrial Doors, the safety of our employees and customers is our top priority. We ensure that all of our staff are fully trained and certified to comply with the latest health and safety legislation. To make it easy for potential clients to check that our work practices are up-to-date, we are registered with the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS).
CHAS is a web-based scheme run by a private company, but ultimately overseen by the Health and Safety Executive. CHAS has two main aims:
In this context, ‘suppliers’ are companies like us; the contractors seeking to supply their products and services. ‘Buyers’ are our potential clients.
How does CHAS reduce duplicated safety applications?

In order to appear on the register, a contractor will have been assessed by CHAS. All CHAS registered suppliers must have demonstrated:
Being registered to CHAS saves a lot of time-consuming paperwork for us and for those who wish to employ us, especially on big public sector contracts. It also provides reassurance for smaller businesses and individuals who have just as much right to expect that we will meet health and safety standards when working for them. For either type of work, contact us on 0800 0180304.
