Agricultural Roller Screens for Barns, Stores and Outbuildings

Posted on 01/07/2016 Galebreaker Rollerscreen installation in Suffolk

It has been a busy week, with members of the Cooks Industrial Doors team heading to the Norfolk Showground in order to exhibit at the Royal Norfolk Show. Whilst it would be fair to say that the weather was not exactly glorious, on the whole it remained dry and it was fantastic to meet so many of those who attend – including one or two familiar faces!

One of the great things about the Norfolk Show is that it provides an opportunity to demonstrate some of the best agricultural products the county has to offer. We were therefore excited to be able to introduce guests to the range of Galebreaker agricultural doors and screens. This range of products includes the Rollerscreen – an example of which we recently fitted at a wood chip store on an estate in Suffolk.

The customer's Yorkshire boarded barn is used to store timber from the trees on the estate, but the height of the structure's opening made it difficult for farm machinery to come and go. Cooks Industrial Doors were therefore tasked with:

  • Increasing the drive through height of the barn
  • Providing fast access
  • Ensuring protection from the elements
  • Maintaining levels of ventilation

We therefore recommended that the customer opt for the Galebreaker rollerscreen. Our team fitted two of these systems, one at each end of the barn, and they offer a number of benefits including:

  • The system is manufactured by Galebreaker – a company with 25 years’ experience of producing products of this kind.
  • Each system is tested for 10,000 operations to ensure that you receive a reliable product which will work efficiently for many years to come.
  • The roller screen is fitted with a locking mechanism, ensuring that it provides an effective windbreak even in the strongest winds.
  • Individual screens can be manufactured up to 4.1 metres high and 6 metres wide, meaning they are fully adjustable and suitable for most openings.
  • Compliance with EC door directive EN-13241.

The flexibility of this system makes it the ideal choice for a wide range of applications, including livestock, feed passages and hay and straw storage.
